Success in real estate and business is rarely a solo venture. Along with my wife Milly, our journey began not in a boardroom, or an executive office but on the ground. Together, we navigated the complexities of property acquisition, the challenges of renovating fix-n-flip properties, and the high-stakes the world of real estate investing truly is.
We’ve experienced the late nights, the tight deadlines, and the thrill of a closing. But more importantly, we experienced the frustration that every ambitious entrepreneur eventually faces: the funding gap. Believe it or not, we used a lot of our own money to acquire our properties and renovate every single one of them. We did most of the work during the renovation process. Our first few properties were FSBO (For Sale By Owner), everything we could to not waste our hard earn dollars on labor and commissions; all while working a full-time truck driving job and serving as an elder in my local congregation.
As we grew our portfolio and expanded our business interests over the years, we realized that the biggest barrier to success wasn't a lack of vision—it was the speed and fast access to capital. I saw firsthand how traditional institutions move at the pace of a snail, often causing many fellow investors to miss out on "deal of a lifetime" opportunities simply because the financing couldn't keep up with the market.
I knew there had to be a better way. I didn't just want to be participants in the market; I wanted to be a solution for the community of owners and investors I had become a part of.
